Bucks vs. ?????

Shanghai Xingbake (星巴克) has lost its case to the global coffee giant Starbucks, as I had predicted about two years ago, and was ordered by the Shanghai No 2 Intermediate People’s Court to change its name and logo, as well as pay a fine of RMB 500,000 (about US$ 62,500).

Xiangyang Rd in New York? (襄阳路市场在纽约)

Xiangyang Road Market in Shanghai

I came across this interesting article on street vendors selling knockoff versions of luxury accessories such as Gucci sunglasses, Channel hand bags, and Pashmina scarves, etc. in New York City. “世博会” vs.“士博汇”, or “诗柏彗” ?

今天报纸上读到上海“世博会” 胜诉,地方法院判上海弘辉房产公司使用“士博汇” 为楼盘名属侵权,责成房产公司立即停止使用该楼盘名并在有关报刊上刊登致歉声明,及赔偿“世博会”40万元损失费,并交罚款5万元。

这种新闻往往读得叫人一头雾水。先前也没听说有这么一个案子,这会儿就已经判出来了,而且没有来龙去脉地只讲一个结果而没有具体审判过程和相关法律细节,那么报导的目的是什么呢?又不是八卦新闻,读读就算了。
