强台风”达维”登陆中国海南岛

当地时间周一(9月26日)凌晨，台风"达维"登陆中国海南岛。这是20年来登陆海南岛最强的一个台风。

"达维"是今年第18号台风。根据海南省气象台发布的消息，"达维"于周一凌晨4时在海南省万宁市北部沿海地区登陆，台风中心附近最大风力12级，风速相当于每秒55米。

今晚的在爸妈家的晚饭真的很朴实，连酒杯都省了，就用小碗。菜单比起外面的饭店的花哨可谓家常：毛豆烤芋头，油焖茭白，毛栗子鸡块，红油模糊(凉粉) ，西芹百合，油爆虾，清蒸扁鱼，辣椒炸臭豆腐，咸鸭，烧鸡，火腿玉米青豆糊，清炒四季豆。还有月饼和水果。然而妈妈的厨艺以及四世同堂的天伦之乐却是无价。另外今晚的月亮也真是圆而亮，上海这样不安的城市被宁祥的银纱笼的竟也显得十分的收敛而可爱。

Today is Chinese Mid-Autumn Day, a traditional holiday for family reunion –its significance is somewhat like the Thanksgiving in U.S., if I have to draw an analogy, so three of us when to my parent’s place for dinner. Also there were my sister and her hubby, my little brother and his girl friend, and my 88-year old grandma. Grandma was very happy to see Tanker, her favorite great grandson, and in return, Tanker sang to her quite many songs that he just learned from school. Meanwhile I was somewhat amazed by watching two of them playing together: after all they are about 84 years apart in their age, and this, I believe, is what a Chinese family values the most: four generations celebrating in the same house.

Michigan’s Week 3

Drew Stanton -Spartans’ QB, and he is very dangerous this year!

This weekend’s college football is pretty interesting -lots of high-score games, and the Big Ten is bouncing back after the very disappointing last weekend.

After losing to Notre Dame at home last week, Michigan Wolverines today vanquished its little brother Eastern Michigan 55:0 in trying to earn back some confidence as well as respect, but I don’t think this win will improve Michigan’s ranking at all since E. Michigan is so weak, and I also think Michigan has overdone the game by relinquishing its anger from its last week’s shameful defeat mercilessly on its little brother at home –it doesn’t prove anything!
